Representation matters — not just because it feels good to be seen, but because it changes what therapy can be.
As a Black therapist, I know how frustrating it is to sit across from someone who doesn’t understand your reality. You shouldn’t have to explain cultural dynamics, defend your tone, or carry the weight of being ‘the voice’ for your entire community.
In this space, you get to show up fully — and we get to focus on healing, not translating.

It’s different for us.
Being in a relationship is hard enough. When you’re Black, there’s more in the mix — generational trauma, pressure to “look strong,” family expectations, and a whole world that doesn’t always feel safe. Sometimes, we take that out on each other without even meaning to.
We work with Black couples who are struggling to communicate, fighting too much, or feeling more like roommates than partners. Whether you’re dealing with trust issues, parenting stress, infidelity, or just years of built-up resentment — we don’t judge, and we don’t sugarcoat. We help you get to the truth, heal what’s broken, and start moving forward.
Representation matters.
As a Black person, you want a therapist who gets it — who knows we’re not a monolith, who won’t make assumptions about your beliefs or culture, and who won’t ask you to speak for anyone but yourself.
You deserve a space where you can show up fully, without censoring yourself or overexplaining. No decoding. No tiptoeing. Just the freedom to focus on doing the work.
At Poole Conflict Solutions, we help high-conflict couples, new parents, and partners recovering from infidelity find clarity, connection, and lasting change.
